The 2015 Public Health Think Tank brought together 35 students from ten universities to develop grassroots solutions to the pressing public health issue of obesity in children and adolescents. The Core Team is grateful for the overwhelming interest that students and universities from across the UAE showed in addressing the obesity pandemic, which resulted in a record number of applicants to the Think Tank — 112 students from 19 universities, more than double of last year’s event.
The Core Team would once again like to extend its gratitude to the speakers, judges, team leaders, facilitators, and volunteers who helped make PHTT 2015 possible. We thank the Office of Student Life, the Career Development Center, and the Public Health Research Center for funding the event, and Alexandra Dimitri, Faiza Hamizi, and Victor Lindsay in particular for their invaluable support and advice.
Please take a moment to explore some of the pictures taken at the event. We hope to publish slides and video from some of the presentations at PHTT 2015 soon.
