Andrea Leinberger-Jabari to hold Public Health Workshop at PHTT 2015

We are very pleased to announce that Andrea Leinberger-Jabari has been confirmed as a workshop leader for Public Health Think Tank 2015!

Andrea Leinberger-Jabari, MPH is a public health professional with over 15 years of public health experience conducting research and implementing healthy living initiatives. She received her MPH from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in the areas of Community Health Education and Epidemiology after her BA in Anthropology from Arizona State University.

A recent arrival in Abu Dhabi, Andrea has held positions at The Rockefeller University Center for Clinical and Translational Science and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Minnesota and has been responsible for various community engaged research activities. Prior to these appointments, Andrea served as the Director of US-based Health Programs for an international, community-based organization, where she was responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating community-based health promotion initiatives primarily serving immigrant and refugee families.

Andrea’s work has largely focused on harnessing the strength of communities to identify relevant health issues and their solutions. She has expertise in building collaborations between community-based organizations, activated citizens, academia and government to address critical public health issues including childhood obesity, access to healthcare, and tobacco risk reduction.

Her research is focuses on community-based participatory research (CBPR) approaches to addressing public health issues. Her main interest lies in understanding how collaboration works to create sustainable health promotion initiatives.
